These artist’s impressions (especially commissioned by Rocket Ship) illustrate the ideal configuration of the flight deck. Please note seating can be modified to suit your individual taste. In this case the pilot has chosen a simple leather dining-style chair. (The seat belt is not shown but would be fitted prior to launch as this is mandatory equipment.)
The illustrations also give an indication of the controls for flight – clearly visible are the steering column, accelerator, brake and handbrake, just like in an Earth-bound motor vehicle. So, if you can drive an automatic then you can certainly fly Rocket Ship without requiring any additional tuition. (NB: all pilots are offered instruction by a Rocket Ship advisor, and receive the Rocket Ship Flight Manual [version 0.1].) The control panel has at its centre a VDU display showing outside conditions, just like a TV monitor in fact. There are an array of buttons and other dials (not shown in this sketch) that assist with steering Rocket Ship on its designated path to the Moon – or other planet. Note also the First Aid box, Suitcase for Flight Manual and other small items (such as toothbrush, snacks such as nuts etc) and Water Bottle. These items come as standard.
